Gambia is a small country in West Africa, bordered by Senegal and with a narrow coastline on the Atlantic Ocean. It is known for the varied ecosystems of the Gambia River, which flows through the center of the country. The abundant wildlife of Kiang West National Park and the Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve includes monkeys, leopards, hippos, hyenas as well as rare birds. Banjul, the capital, and the nearby town of Serrekunda offer access to the beaches.
